2016: After going without a home run last season, McGuire led the team in 2016 with seven homers, just three off the school record set by Erin Frank in 2006. Her .331 batting average placed fourth among her teammates,The outfielder also recorded 21 extra base hits in 45 games, serving as the team’s leader in triples (3), and home runs. She recorded four or more RBI in four games, highlighted by her 5-hit, 5-RBI performance against Northern Kentucky. She also picked up four RBI against Saint Peter’s and Siena in conference play. She reached base in 37 of her 48 appearances in 2016, a stat aided by her 15 walks. McGuire had at least one hit in 28 games this year including 11 games with two or more hits. She enjoyed a nine-game hitting streak from March 11-29, hitting .531 during the stretch (17 of 32 with 13 RBI).
2015: Angelina McGuire worked her way into the starting lineup early in the season and ended up starting 30 of her 38 appearances in 2015. The outfielder spent most of her season in right field where she recorded 44 putouts in 45 chances. The freshman picked up an RBI in five games this season which included a two-RBI day against Hartford. She went 3 for 3 in that game and scored a run. McGuire showed a good eye at the plate, working out 15 walks which helped earn a .385 on-base percentage. She drew three base-on-balls against Illinois-Chicago which translated into three runs scored. McGuire enjoyed a strong season on the base paths, successfully stealing six bases in seven tries and scoring 17 runs. She put together a four-game hitting streak in back-to-back doubleheaders against Siena and Quinnipiac, batting .417 during the stretch (5 of 12) with three runs scored
Before Fairfield:McGuire comes to Fairfield University via Immaculate Heart Academy where she was a key student-athlete with the softball program. Over her four-year career, McGuire batted over .360 with 113 hits and 96 runs scored. She posted 46 extra-base hits during her career, including 28 doubles. Her breakout season came as a senior when she finished the campaign with a .485 batting average. McGuire posted 10 doubles, five triples and nine home runs, accounting for half of her career extra-base hits. She owned a near two-to-one ratio on walks to strikeouts, registering 67 walks and just 36 strikeouts in 121 games. McGuire was an All-State athlete in her final two seasons, and earned All-America honors from the NFCA in 2014. She led Immaculate Academy to three sectional championships and one state title. McGuire was also a member of the New Jersey Heist, playing six seasons with the club team.
