Before Fairfield: Amanda Ulzheimer comes to Fairfield after a successful scholastic career at H. Frank Carey High School where she excelled in the classroom and on the diamond. As a member of the softball team, Ulzheimer batted better than .500 for her career including an impressive .537 mark as a senior. She also rank track during the winter months as a member of the 4 x 200 relay team, and also played soccer in the fall. For her all-around athletic prowess, she was presented with a Tri--Athlete award. The outfielder earned All-County honors during her four-year career. She was listed as a player to watch by MSG Varsity and was a member of Newsday's Top 100 players in 2015 bAcademically, Ulzheimer was a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Science Honor Society. She garnered honors as a Nassau County Scholar-Athlete in her senior season.
