Women's Swimming and Diving Topped by Pioneers

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women’s Swimming and Diving team fell to Sacred Heart 168-125 on Saturday afternoon.

The meet was highlighted by four first place finishes by Katelyn Hahn, Grace Goddard, and Colleen Young. Hahn earned the top spot in the 1500m freestyle with a time of 18:55.60. Goddard finished first in both the 200m butterfly and the 200m IM with times of 2:31.06 and 2:35.25. Young claimed the top spot in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:47.26.

Senior diver Leah Pawelczyk scored a 211.50 in the 3-meter event, good for first place,  and a 192.23 in the 1-meter. Jane Rice earned a 194.93 in the 3-meter and a 221.63 in the 1-meter to claim the top spot.

The women are back in the water this Friday at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn.
