Stags Sweep Saint Peter's

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfeidl University women's tennis team began the MAAC portion of their spring schedule with a 7-0 win at Saint Peter's on Sunday afternoon. 

Sarah Stuhlmann led the Stags at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory. Her teammates followed suit with all of them picking up straight-set wins. Nicole Aragones picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win in the second spot, Diana Prinos earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3, and Jessica Pil won at No. 4, 6-1, 6-1. Shelby Vertula and Emily Lombardi won 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-0 respectivley in their mathces.

Fairfield was just as dominant in doubles play with three wins. Aragones and Stuhlmann picked up a 6-1 win at No. 1. Lombardi partnered with Karen McKeough for a 6-2 victory in the second spot. And in the third slot, the duo of Vertula and Meghan Zimmer won 6-2.

The Stags have a busy week ahead of them with matches at UConn, Wagner, and Seton Hall with the action beginning on Tuesday in Storrs.
