Stags Finish Fifth at Hartford Women’s Invitational

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University women’s golf team wrapped up action at the Hartford Women’s Invitational on Saturday at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield. As a team, the Stags improved by 11 strokes from the first round to the second en route to a fifth-place finish.

Danielle Dalessandro led the Stags with a 36-hole score of 169 (81-88). Taylor Rogers posted Fairfield’s low round today with an 81 to round out her 171 (90-81). Arianna Palmeri (96-87-183) and Jackie Schofield (95-95-190) also competed this weekend for the Stags.

Albany and Sacred Heart tied atop the team leaderboard, with the Great Danes making up five strokes today to knot the Pioneers at 635.  Pascalle Tego of Wagner was the weekend’s individual medalist with a two-round score of 151 (+7).

The Stags are slated to play 18 holes on Monday at the Sacred Heart Invitational at Great River Golf Club in Milford before heading to Lake Buena Vista, Fla. for the 2017 MAAC Championship. The three-day tournament from Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course begins on Friday, April 21.
