Rogers and Schofield Post Top 10 Finishes at SHU Spring One Day

MILFORD, Conn. – Taylor Rogers and Jackie Schofield each carded an 80 (+8) to lead the Fairfield University women’s golf team to a fourth-place performance at the Sacred Heart Spring One Day Tournament at Great River Golf Club in Milford. Rogers and Schofield tied for sixth place on the individual leaderboard.

The Stags’ two leaders on the course with six strokes off the pace set by Pascalle Tego and Ariana Furrie, both from Wagner College, who topped the leaderboard with scores of 74 (+2). The duo led the Seahawks to the team crown today in Milford.

Danielle Dalessandro was also among the top half of the 41-golfer field, grabbing 19th place with an 85. Arianna Palmeri turned in a 92 to round out the scoring for Fairfield.

Fairfield’s aggregate score of 337 (+49) landed them in fourth place, right in the middle of the seven-team field. The Stags were slotted in-between a pair of MAAC foes, three strokes behind Siena and two shots in front of Hartford.

The Stags will now turn their attention to the 2017 MAAC Championship in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The three-day tournament from Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course begins on Friday, April 21.
