Women's Tennis Drops 5-2 Match to Siena

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University women's tennis team dropped their regular season finale to Siena, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles action, the Saints swept the Stags for wins at all three positions. All three matches ended with a final score of 6-3. In singles play, freshmen Shelby Vertula and Emily Lombardi both grabbed victories to give Fairfield two points on the day. Vertula won in straight sets at No. 5, 6-1, 6-3. And at No. 6, Lombardi battled for a three set win (4-6, 6-2, 10-8).

The Stags will now focus all of their attention on the MAAC Championships this coming weekend. The semifinal rounds begin on Saturday, April 29 in West Windsor, N.J.
