The 2013-14 campaign marks Dan Vener's 24th season with the Stags, having been a member of the swimming and diving staff since the 1990-91 season. His instruction is primarily in the area of diving and he has consistently turned out strong divers.
In 2012, Vener guided Ashlee Steinberger to a MAAC title on the 3-meter board and to Most Outstanding Diver accolades at the MAAC Championships. In 2009, Vener coached Taylor Stecko to a pair of sixth place finishes on the 1-meter and 3-meter at the ECAC Championships. It was the best performance by a male diver at the event in program history. In 2010, Stecko broke three program records and placed fourth at the MAAC Championships on both boards.
In his second season with the Stags he was named the MAAC Diving Coach of the Year.
He was a four-year member of the Bucknell University swimming and diving team. In his freshman season, Vener was a finalist in the one and 3-meter diving events as he helped lead the Bison to the East Coast Conference championship in 1987.
A native of Westport, Conn., he attended Staples High School where he was a diver on the varsity team for four years. Vener graduated from Bucknell in 1990 with a degree in business administration and received his MBA from Fairfield in 2005
