The position involves education, monitoring, and enforcement of University, MAAC, CAA, and NCAA rules and regulations.

In addition to his compliance responsibilities, Klauder also serves as the sport administrator for the Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Diving Programs.

He represents athletics on numerous committees regarding student welfare, including the Case Management Committee and Stags Council.  Outside of Fairfield, Klauder is a member of the NCAA Progress Towards Degree Waivers Committee and MAAC Swimming & Diving Championship Committee.

He also serves as Co-Chair of the Fairfield Athletics Hall of Fame Golf Outing, the department’s signature fundraising event.

Klauder came to Fairfield after spending two years as the Assistant Director of Compliance at Hofstra University.  In that role, he was responsible for the initial-eligibility of all incoming student-athletes, monitoring all recruiting activity, and developing a rules education program for Hofstra’s staff and student-athletes.

He began his career at Providence College, where he served as a Graduate Assistant for two years.  In that role, Klauder assisted in all facets of the day-to-day compliance responsibilities, including interpretations of NCAA regulations, overseeing the National Letter of Intent program, and monitoring initial-eligibility.

A native of Washington Township, N.J., Klauder graduated from Robert Morris University with a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications.  He was a three-year letter-winner for the Colonials track and field program. He then earned a Master’s of Business Administration from Providence College in 2008.

Klauder currently resides in Fairfield with his wife Melissa, and their son, Luke.
