Nick Kolb is in his second year as the Coordinator of Strength & Conditioning at Fairfield University. Kolb is responsible for developing and overseeing specific training programs for all 20 varsity athletic programs.
Kolb came to Fairfield in August 2013 after spending six years at Stony Brook University. In his role as Assistant Director of Speed, Strength, and Conditioning, Kolb designed and implemented the training programs for the men’s and women’s lacrosse, baseball, and volleyball teams. He also assisted with women’s basketball, softball, men’s soccer, tennis, track & field, football, men’s basketball, and swimming. During that time, the teams he oversaw won four Big South Football titles and seven America East titles, including baseball which made an NCAA College World Series appearance.
Kolb brings experience from the professional ranks as well. He was a volunteer conditioning coach for the Long Island Lizards during the 2012 Major League Lacrosse preseason. He was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the NFL Europa Rhein Fire and was a strength and conditioning intern for the Minnesota Vikings.
Kolb graduated from Hofstra University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. He also earned a Masters from Stony Brook’s School of Professional Development. Kolb has CSCS certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and SCCC certification from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association.
