Julie Brzezinski is in her 20th season as Fairfield University's head softball coach, having taken over the program in the spring of 1998. During her 19 years at the helm, the Stags averaged 28 wins per season, advanced to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament 18 times, and posted 12 winning campaigns. In 2015, she led Fairfield to its second MAAC championship and the program's first NCAA Tournament bid.

The Stags captured the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season title in six of the last 11 seasons. She was named MAAC coach of the year in 2011, the third time she collected that honor (2002, 2004).

The New Jersey native is the fifth head coach in Fairfield University softball history. Before her arrival, the school record for wins in a season was 29, a total she has equaled or surpassed nine times in 18 campaigns. Brzezinski owns a 523-481-5 record at Fairfield, which includes a 27-23 slate. She earned her 300th Fairfield victory in a win against Siena during the 2008 season (April 5) and her 400th victory against Youngstown State.

Overall, her 600th career win came at home against Siena during the 2010 season. Her 500th career win was against Long Island University in March, 2006. Her 400th win came against Bucknell, a 7-2 decision during the team's Florida trip in the 2003 season. Brzezinski's 300th career win came in the 2000 regular-season finale, a 2-1 victory over Princeton.

Brzezinski came to Fairfield with eight years experience, coaching at Campbell University in North Carolina. Brzezinski led the Fighting Camels to two Big South Conference championships (1993 and 1994), one Trans Atlantic Conference title (1995), and one TAAC runner-up finish (1996). Campbell advanced to the NCAA Regional Tournament during her tenure. She registered a 245-195 record in her eight years

Brzezinski graduated from Furman University in 1989, earning a bachelor of arts degree in business administration.

She received her master's of education from Campbell in 1992. She played softball for four seasons while at Furman.
