Florian Sedy begins his third season as an assistant field hockey coach at Fairfield University in 2016. His coaching background is extensive in the international game, holding coaching roles at various levels of the game. He has worked with youth programs throughout the world and has been at the helm of both men’s and women’s programs. Most recently, he coached the Post SV men’s team in the Austrian Hockey Association. Sedy was also the head coach of the HC Wien women’s team, a stint he started during the summer of 2011. His international expertise comes from his time as a member of the Austrian U-21 National Team coaching staff which won the European Championship, as well as the Austrian U-16 National Team which placed fourth in 2012 and won the European Championship in 2014. His first international coaching position came in 2008-09 when he was an assistant coach for the Austrian U-18 National Team. Sedy also attended several international coaching programs in Austria and Poland.
