Marie Muhvic was named an Associate Director of Athletics in October of 2015 in addition to her position as the University's Director of Development for Athletics & Recreation. Muhvic is the principal/major gifts officer for Fairfield’s 20 varsity and 18 club sports through a portfolio of 250 prospects. In her expanded role, she has a reporting line and responsibilities in Athletics/Student Affairs that will align with her ongoing role in Advancement.
Muhvic, who also served as a Major Gift Officer at Fairfield from 2011-2013, has been instrumental in capital campaigns for the University both inside and outside the realm of athletics. Her work includes completing the fundraising process for Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium, securing gifts directed towards the new Recreational Complex that is currently under construction and creating the Friends of Athletics program for varsity and club sports to build a supportive network around each team. In her first year she secured $1.2 million in commitments and $700,000 in additional revenue.
Muhvic has previously held positions in development at St. John’s University, Princeton University and the University of Tennessee.
A 2002 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, Muhvic earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education while also earning NSCAA Scholar All-America honors for the Pointers’ women’s soccer team. She earned a Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Tennessee in 2003.
