Lauren Filicia begins her first season as an assistant coach for the Stags softball program after spending four seasons partrolling the outfield for Fairfield. She was a highly-decorated outfielder from 2013-16, earning All-Region and All-MAAC first team honors multiple seasons. She earned the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year as a junior, the same year that she was selected as the MAAC Tournament Most Valuable Player, which led the Stags to their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance. Filicia batted .406 as a senior with 69 hits which raised her career hit total to 223. She posted a career .375 batting average with 23 doubles and 90 RBI.
