FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Less than five months after capturing a MAAC Championship, the Friends of Fairfield Baseball gathered to dedicate the new Alumni Diamond and varsity locker room. The special ribbon cutting ceremony took place on October 22, 2016 during Alumni and Family Weekend, which featured a locker room outfitted with illuminated Stag logos new wooden lockers, showers, a bathroom area, built-in speakers and a flat screen television. The enhanced Alumni Diamond includes a brand new stadium with new bleachers with red chair back seats, expanded dugouts, a press box and new fencing.

“I think it’s important for our community to understand how crucial our Friends and supporters of Fairfield Baseball are to the program” shared Head Coach Bill Currier. “Our program might have produced a MAAC Championship last year, but our generous supporters were really a part of our success. We’ve created a sense of pride that is felt amongst our current players and through our alumni who return to campus. I think it’s awesome.”

The field dedication and blessing was capped off with a ring ceremony for the 2016 MAAC Champions. Click here to view the event photo gallery.
