FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams will host St. Francis College on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and the women will host Siena College on Monday at 1:00 p.m., both at the RecPlex Pool.

Both teams have yet to compete in 2017 and just recently returned from their annual training trip that took them to Bridgetown, Barbados for 10 days. Their last competition came on November 20, 2016 at the Terrier Invitational. The men’s team finished sixth at the event while the women placed eighth.

Saturday will also be St. Francis’ first taste of the pool in the new year. The women’s side last competed on December 9 against LIU Brooklyn. Their top event that day was the 100 breaststroke in which they claimed the top three spots. Raphaelle Gregoire finished first followed by Fanny Stromstedt and Lara Milak. The Terriers’ men’s side has been out of commission since the ECAC Championships ended on December 4 where they placed fifth.

Siena will compete against LIU Post on Saturday before traveling to the RecPlex Pool on Monday. The Saints’ final competition of 2016 was the ECAC Championships in which they placed fourth. Sophomore Elizabeth Fournier claimed their highest finish with second place in the 200 butterfly (2:11.07).

After this weekend, the Stags will compete twice more next weekend. They host Iona on January 20 and Sacred Heart on January 21.
