FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University tennis teams will travel to Philadelphia this weekend to take on Saint Joseph’s on Saturday and Drexel on Sunday. The Stags and Hawks are slated for a first serve of 6:30 p.m. and the next day, the match with the Dragons will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Both Fairfield teams are coming off a win over Lafayette. The men's side picked up a 7-0 victory, while the women won 5-2. Sophomore Anthony Caputo was named the MAAC Player of the Week following the Lafayette match after he posted wins in both No. 2 singles and doubles. Emily Lombardi and Shelby Vertula each won their pair of matches on the day to help the Stags get the win.

Both Saint Joseph’s teams will host Sacred Heart on Friday before welcoming the Stags on Saturday night. And coincidentally are also coming of wins over Lafayette back on February 11. The men and women each won by a score of 7-0 over the Leopards.

The Drexel women’s team has won three in a row heading into the weekend, having beaten Lehigh, Binghamton, and Colgate in the month of February. The team will host Connecticut on Friday and Sacred Heart on Saturday before playing the Stags on Sunday.

Their men’s team is on a two match skid after falling to Binghamton and Colgate last weekend. The Dragons will play against Sacred Heart on Saturday before hosting Fairfield on Sunday.

After this weekend, the Stags will return to the courts when the men host Boston University at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center on February 25. The women get back in action playing at Yale on March 5.
