Stags Face Peacocks in Spring MAAC Opener

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield women’s tennis team opens up their spring slate of MAAC play this Sunday, March 26 at Saint Peter’s. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

The Stags are back in the Northeast after a Spring Break trip to Orlando where they faced Bucknell and Northern Iowa. Nicole Aragones got her first taste of singles actions this season against both the Bison and Panthers. At No. 3 singles she posted a 6-4, 6-3 win over Bucknell. And at No. 2 singles she earned a three-set victory over Northern Iowa. In that same match, she partnered with Sarah Stuhlmann to record a 6-4 No. 1 doubles win.

Saint Peter’s is coming off a 7-0 MAAC loss to Siena on March 19. Overall this season they are 2-12 including a 0-3 league record having also loss to Quinnipiac and Monmouth back in October. On March 19, the Saints topped the Peacocks in straight-sets at all positions.

After Sunday, Fairfield will be back on the courts on Tuesday, March 28 in Storrs with a matchup against UConn.
