2016: As a senior played in all 18 games while earning 16 starts for the Stags… Finished third on the team with 45 points, 34 goals, and 11 assists… Also picked up 20 groundballs, 11 draw controls, and caused five turnovers… Was held without a point just once all season… Scored a goal in 15 of 18 contests during the year… Had a season high four goals at UConn on March 19th.
2015: Mascera was an offensive fixture at attack for Fairfield. She competed in all 19 games, with 14 starts. Mascera was the Stags’ second leading scorer, tallying 32 goals. Mascera also dished 10 assists to finish the season with 42 points. She also grabbed 11 draw controls, picked up 17 ground balls, and caused seven turnovers. Mascera took 73 shots, with 53 on goal, and earned a shots on goal percentage of .726. She recorded 11 multi-goal games this year, tallying hat tricks against Sacred Heart, Manhattan, Siena, Marist, and No. 11 Princeton in the NCAA first round contest. In that game, she also recorded two assists to contribute a team-high five point effort.
2014: Mascera had an impressive sophomore campaign as an attack/midfield for the Stags in which she tallied 16 goals to be the fourth-highest scorer on the roster. Mascera also dished four assists to tally a season total 20 points. She picked up 11 ground balls, grabbed eight draw controls, and caused nine turnovers. Throughout Mascera’s 17 appearances and seven starts, she recorded four multi-goal games and one hat trick. She recorded 31 shots on goal with an overall shot on goal percentage of .838. She recorded multi-goal games against Siena and Canisius, including the game-winners.
2013: Mascera served as a reserve attack/midfield for Fairfield, appearing in six games during her rookie campaign. Mascera tallied two goals, against Iona and Manhattan, for two points. She picked up one ground ball, grabbed four draw controls, with a personal-best three draw controls against Quinnipiac. Mascera caused one turnover, took two shots on goal and had a shots on goal percentage of .667.
Before Fairfield: Mascera comes to Fairfield after lettering four seasons at Verona High School, where she served as a team captain her senior year. Mascera helped the Hillbillies to 28 victories and scored a school-record 270 career goals. During her final campaign, she netted 99 goals to set the school single-season record and earn her second consecutive All-State honor. Mascera was an UnderArmour Underclass All-America pick, a three-time First Team All-Conference pick, and garnered All-Super Essex accolades twice throughout her career.
Personal: Daughter of Lisa and Greg Mascera... Has two older sisters, Gina and Christina… Father, Greg, played baseball at Furman… Cousin, Danielle, played lacrosse at Rutgers… Member of Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC)…Interned and volunteered with Make-A-Wish Foundation... Major is Psychology and Educational Studies.
