Women’s Golf Tabbed for Eighth in MAAC Preseason Poll

EDISON, N.J. – The Fairfield University women’s golf team has been selected to finish eighth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Stags tee off the spring season on April 1-2 at the NEIGA Women’s Championship in Brewster, Mass.

Fairfield garnered 27 points in the poll, just two behind seventh-place Niagara. Albany and defending MAAC Champion Quinnipiac share the top of the ledger with 71 points apiece. The Great Danes garnered five fifth-place votes and the Bobcats collected three. Fifth-place Dayton earned the remaining first-place tally.

The Stags will compete in four tournaments this spring, culminating with the 2017 MAAC Championship from Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. from April 21-23.
