Second Round Action Concludes at MAAC Championship

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Four members of the Fairfield University women’s golf team have posted identical scores of 173 through two rounds of action at the 2017 MAAC Championship. In today’s round, Jackie Schofield and Taylor Rogers each carded an 85 to head the effort at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course.

Rogers (88-85) and Schofield (88-85) both improved by three strokes from yesterday en route to their Saturday scores. Danielle Dalessandro (87-86) and Madison Banas (86-87) both remained consistent on the links to round out their twin 173s entering Championship Sunday. Arianna Palmeri improved by three strokes on her second trip through the course today.

With a team total of 692, Fairfield stands at eighth on the team leaderboard, a manageable 15 strokes behind Niagara and Siena. Quinnipiac will enter the final round with a nine stroke lead over Albany. The Bobcats’ Alexandra Sazhin and the Great Danes’ Paige Fujihara share the individual lead at +9.

The 54-hole MAAC Championship concludes tomorrow in Lake Buena Vista. The action from Championship Sunday action will be broadcast live on ESPN3 beginning at 10 a.m.
