FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Freshman swimmer Colleen Young will once again be a member of the National Team in 2017. She had one of her greatest achievements in 2016 when she took home a bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke at the Paralympic Games in Rio.

“It’s an honor to be on the National Team again. It shows that all the hard work you’ve put into the sport really pays off,” said the Saint Louis native.

Having been on campus for just six months, Young already has her name in the Fairfield record books after setting the school record in the 200m breaststroke. She also holds 11 American records including four that she set in the month of January.

Fairfield next competes at the 2017 MAAC Championships in Buffalo, New York beginning on February 8.
