FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield University field hockey senior Ann Burgoyne adds yet another accolade to her storied career. The captain and forward was named an ECAC Division I Field Hockey All-Star for the third consecutive year.
“Ann is such a special player,” said Head Coach Jackie Kane. “She served as a captain for two seasons and was a great leader on and off the field for our whole team. She consistently performed at a high level and this honor is a credit to all her hard work.”
The Blue Bell, Pa. native finished her senior season as Fairfield’s all-time leading scoring. In four years she racked up 126 points and 56 goals, she is also tied for the most game-winning goals with nine. During the 2016 campaign, in which the Stags advanced to the MAAC Championship Game before falling to Monmouth in double overtime, the forward was once again the team’s leading scorer. Burgoyne posted 35 points with 13 goals and a career best nine assists. The senior was also named a First Team All-MAAC player, an NFHCA Senior All-Star, and was selected to the All-Mideast Region Team.
