Huskies Outlast Stags

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University men's tennis team dropped a close 4-3 match to UConn on Thursday afternoon in East Hartford. 

The Stags took a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point. Brad Orban and Anthony Caputo earned a 7-6 win at No. 1 and Jeffrey Rodgers paired with Tyler Shibles for a 6-3 win at No. 2. 

In singles action, the Huskies took control of the match winning four of the six points. Orban grabbed his fifth straight singles win at No. 1 (6-1, 6-2). And in the second spot, Caputo picked up a three set win (1-6, 6-1, 7-6). 

Fairfield's next outing is at the Yale Invitational on March 11 and 12 in New Haven.
