Six Tennis Student-Athletes Earn All-Academic Honors

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Six Fairfield University student-athletes were named to the 2016-17 Tennis MAAC All-Academic Team as announced by the league on Friday night.

To be eligible for All-Academic honors a student must have completed two full semesters at their current institution and hold at least a 3.20 GPA.

On the men's side, sophomores Anthony Caputo and Jeffrey Rodgers each earned their first selection to the team.  The women had four honorees including sophomore Gabriella Campos, juniors Sarah Stuhlmann and Meghan Zimmer, and senior Karen McKeough. McKeough earns the recognition for the third straight year, while Stuhlmann and Zimmer pick up their second straight selections.

Both teams take to the courts on Saturday for MAAC Semifinal action at the Mercer County Tennis Center. The women face Quinnipiac at 10:00 a.m. and the men compete against Monmouth at 2:00 p.m.
