Women's Tennis Faces Yale Sunday Morning

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield women’s tennis team gets back in action on Sunday at Yale at 10:00 a.m.

The team’s last competition came on the road back on February 18 and 19 against Saint Joseph’s and Drexel. Emily Lombardi earned a three set win for the Stags' only point of the day versus the Hawks. At No. 5 singles she posted a 2-6, 6-2, 11-9 victory. The freshman had similar results at Drexel, winning 6-3, 6-4 in the fifth spot.

Yale is coming off a 7-0 win over Quinnipiac on February 26. The Bulldogs won easily at all six spots in singles action. Carol Finke claimed a three set win at No.1 over Sitilia Rencheli, Amy Yang had a straight set win over Rachel Horton in the second spot, and Valerie Shklover topped Jennifer Lu in three sets at No. 3.

The Stags next match is against Northern Kentucky on Thursday, March 9 at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
