Garden Catering Student-Athletes of the Month

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Amadou Sidibe and Megan O'Sullivan have been named the Garden Catering Student-Athletes of the Month for their outstanding play on the court in November.

Sidibe, the graduate student, is averaging 8.0 points and a league leading 10.4 rebounds per game during the first month of the season. The forward has posted two double-doubles thus far in games against Loyola (Md.) and Army West Point. Against the greyhounds, Sidibe had 13 points and 14 rebounds and in the win over the Black Knights he had registered career highs with 19 points and 19 rebounds. The forward also tipped in the game-winning basket with just 0.4 seconds remaining to give Fairfield the one point win.

O’Sullivan capped her performance in November as the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 MAAC Championship. She led the Stags to their second straight conference crown with 3.71 kills and 1.29 blocks per set in the postseason wins over Siena and Quinnipiac. For the month as a whole, the Stags’ senior co-captain posted 2.83 kills per set on .342 hitting with 1.33 blocks per frame, guiding Fairfield to a 6-0 month to extend the nation’s longest winning streak to 22 matches. She earned First Team All-MAAC honors for the second consecutive season. O’Sullivan and the Stags are in action in the NCAA Championship First Round at No. 15 Michigan State on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
