Garden Catering Student-Athletes of the Month

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Kyle Dube and Destinee Pallotto have been named the Garden Catering Student-Athletes of the Month for their performances in the month of May.

Dube, a senior, was Fairfield's best pitcher over the final month of the season. He posted a 2-0 record in three starts in May. The pitcher picked up a win to complete the sweep over Monmouth on May 7, allowing just two runs in seven innings. And on May 19, he posted another quality start throwing seven innings while allowing just three earned runs to help Fairfield secure the MAAC Regular Season Championship. Overall during the month, Dube recorded a 2.10 ERA in 24.2 innings of work with 19 strikeouts. Batters hit just .200 against the senior during the month of May. The senior matched his win total from a season ago with six wins in 13 starts while amassing 59 total strikeouts.

Pallotto, a junior, was named the MAAC Tournament MVP after leading Fairfield to a MAAC Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth for the second time in program history. The pitcher earned all four wins for the Stags in the MAAC Tournament, tossing 27 innings while closing out the tournament with 25 consecutive scoreless innings. She saved her best for last, spinning a no-hitter in the Tournament title game against Monmouth. Pallotto continued her pitching brilliance allowing just two unearned runs over six innings in a 2-1 loss to LSU in the first game of the NCAA Regional. The junior finished the season overall with a career-high 13 wins and went the distance 19 times in her 28 starts.
