Garden Catering Student-Athletes of the Month

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Tori Reed and Kevin Radziewicz have been named the Garden Catering Student-Athletes of the Month for their performances in the month of March.

Reed, a senior, has led her team to a 2-0 record in conference play and nine wins in the month of Mach. The Dover, Delaware native is third on the team with a .333 batting average. The catcher who has started all 23 games this season leads her team in several offensive categories including at bats (78), runs (16), home runs (4), and RBI (18). In the filed she is no slouch, as she posts a .988 fielding percentage, highest among the everyday starters. Reed was named the MAAC Player of the Week on March 21 after having her best week of the season. In eight games in the Sunshine State, the senior batted .407 with three home runs and 11 RBI as the Stags posted a 3-5 record during its trip. Fairfield hosts Canisius for a doubleheader on Monday beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Radziewicz, a junior, has started all 21 games for the Stags this season who have started MAAC play with a 2-1 record. Fairfield played Rider in their league opening series, taking two of three. Just during the month of March, the catcher posted a team-high batting average of .333 with 19 hits, an OBP of .409, nine RBI, and 22 total bases. He also struck out just four times in 57 at-bats. Defensively behind the plate he threw out six of 16 stolen base attempts. For the season, the junior also boasts a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Fairfield plays Hartford on Monday afternoon before playing at New York Tech on Tuesday and then hosting Yale on Wednesday. This weekend the Stags will play a three game series against Manhattan at Alumni Diamond beginning with a double header on Saturday at noon.
