NEWTON, Mass. – Colin Burke of the Fairfield University men's lacrosse team has been named Second Team All-New England, as voted upon by the head coaches of the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA). Burke led the Stags with 41 points in his sophomore campaign, netting 26 goals with 15 assists.

Also a Second Team All-CAA selection, Burke is just the third Stag to lead the team in both goals and assists in the same season, joining Fairfield Athletics Hall of Famers Greg Downing '07 (in 2005) and Matt Callaghan '98 (in 1995). Coupled with his 63-point year in 2016, he is also only the second Fairfield player since 1999 to post back-to-back 40-point campaigns (Tristan Sperry '15 in 2014 and 2015).

With a season-high six points in the season-ending win over Delaware on April 28, Burke eclipsed the 100-point plateau for his collegiate career. He is the fourth-fastest in program history to reach 100 career points, doing so in his 31st game as a Stag. Only Callaghan, J.T. Groarke '99 and Spencer Steele '00 – the only three Stags to ever notch 200 career points – reached the century mark faster than Burke.

Yale's Ben Reeves was tabbed as the New England Player of the Year, and Ryan Polley of Boston University collected Coach of the Year honors from his peers.
