FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Senior goalkeeper Caleigh O'Connor was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-high 10 saves in the Stags’ win over New Hampshire. The senior garners the recognition for the first time in her career, while it marks the second straight week for a Fairfield student-athlete as Riley Hellstein was selected MAAC Player of the Week last week.

The net minder posted a career-high in saves (10) to go along with five groundballs and two caused turnovers while only allowing four goals against the Wildcats. On the season, she posts an 11.60 goals against average and 37 saves.

Fairfield has a 10-day layoff before they head to Boston for their next contest against the Terriers on March 15 at 3:00 p.m.
