FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University women's swimming and diving team earned Academic All American Team honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the Fall 2008 semester as recently announced by the organization.

Fairfield maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.39 during the fall and ranked 15th of out 93 Division I institutions that earned the honor from the CSCAA. To be eligible, a program must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the semester.

The women's swimming and diving team also posted the highest collective grade point average out of Fairfield's 20 varsity programs for the third-straight semester. In addition, 20 of the 25 team members earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher, including 11 members on the University's Dean's List.
