Dan Vener begins his 20th season with the Stags, having been a member of the swimming and diving staff since the 1990-91 season. His instruction is primarily in the area of diving and he has consistently turned out strong divers.
In 2009, Vener coached Taylor Stecko to a pair of sixth place
finishes on the 1-meter and 3-meter at the ECAC Championships. It
was the best performance by a male diver at the event in program
history.
In his second season with the Stags he was named the MAAC Diving
Coach of the Year.
He was a four-year member of the Bucknell University swimming and
diving team. In his freshman season, Vener was a finalist in the
one and 3-meter diving events as he helped lead the Bison to the
East Coast Conference championship in 1987.
A native of Westport, Conn., he attended Staples High School where
he was a diver on the varsity team for four years. Vener graduated
from Bucknell in 1990 with a degree in business administration and
received his MBA from Fairfield in 2005.
