BOSTON- Fairfield University recorded several top-ten finishes during the second day of competition at the 2007 ECAC Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Harvard University.
Junior Liz Lawlor (North Wales, Pa.) recorded an eighth-place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.02. Marist's Lauren Malski won the event with a time of 1:02.82.
In the women's 3-meter diving, junior Katharine Yee (Bethesda, Md.) placed eighth overall with a score of 191.15.
The women's 200 medley relay of Sarah Dent (Albertston, N.Y.), Lawlor, senior Brittany Hunter (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) and senior Jennifer Masi (North Haven, Conn.) captured the consolation final and placed ninth overall with a time of 1:53.25.
Hunter took 12th place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.81. Marist's Jamie Falco won the event in a time of 1:52.06.
In the men's 400 individual medley, sophomore Drew Kingman (Wilton, Conn.) placed 11th overall with a time of 4:10.87, which is .71 seconds off of his record-setting pace.
In the men's 1-meter diving, freshman Taylor Stecko posted a mark of 209.75 in the preliminaries which puts him in the eighth spot. The 1-meter diving final will take place tomorrow afternoon.
