LOYOLA, Md. - The Fairfield University men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed their season this evening at the MAAC Championships at Loyola College's Fitness and Aquatic Center.

The women finished in fourth-place overall with a total of 420 points while Marist won the Championship with 731 points. Rider came in second-place overall with 689 points while the host Greyhounds took third with 625 points.

The men finished in sixth-place with 317 points, 14.5 points shy of fifth-place Niagara. The Red Foxes won the men's title with 852 points while Rider came in second with 792 points. The Greyhounds took third overall with 552 points and Iona took fourth-place with 424.5 points.

Freshman Erin Carrather (Westwood, N.J.) was the Stags top finisher on the day, taking fourth-place in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:10.25. Sophomore Brittany Hunter (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) finished the 1,650 freestyle in a time of 17:48.68 for a fifth-place finish while senior Kelly Steele (Chatham, N.J.) took sixth in the 100 free in a time of 54.81.

On the men's side, freshman Robert Willhoit (West Orange, N.J.) put in the best performance on the day with a fifth-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 1:56.06. Junior Sean Killelea (Suffern, N.Y.) took eighth-place in the 200 breaststroke, finishing in a time of 2:14.92.

The women's and men's teams finished the regular-season with records of 8-5 and 3-7, respectively.
