FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University women's swimming and diving teams improved to 6-3 on the season as they put in a dominating performance, defeating both Siena and Sacred Heart in a double-dual meet at Alumni Pool this afternoon. The Stags, who won 11 of 13 events, trounced the Pioneers, 79-34 and downed the Saints, 67-45. In the other meet, Sacred Heart defeated Siena, 71-42.

Fairfield's Elizabeth Lawlor (North Wales, Pa.) broke two school-records on the day with the first coming in the first event of the meet, the 400 medley relay, which she swam with Sarah Dent (Albertson, N.Y.), Brittany Hunter (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.), and Jennifer Masi (North Haven, Conn.) in a time of 4:35.11. Individually, Lawlor set a new standard in the 100 breast, breaking her own mark with a time of 1:17.51.

Hunter and senior Kelly Steele (Chatham, N.J.) won two events apiece for the Stags. Hunter took first-place in the 200 IM in a time of 2:29.80, and won the 400 free in a time of 4:38.38 while Steele bested the field in the 200 free in a time of 2:14.51 and swam the 100 free in 1:02.05 to take first.

Two other members of the record-breaking 400 medley relay team won individual events for Fairfield as Masi took the 50 free in 28.4 while Dent won the 100 back in a time of 1:08.43.

Junior Bridget McKeon swam the 800 free in a time of 9:50.67 to take first-place while freshman Rachel Waldstein (Needham, Mass.) won the 100 fly in a time of 1:10.79.

Senior Chrissie Mayr (Rockville Center, N.Y.) swept the diving events, wining the 1-meter board with 195.5 points and the 3-meter board with 235.0 points.

The Stags are back in action tomorrow as they head to New Haven, Conn., to participate in the Nutmeg Invitational on the Yale campus.
