EDISON, N.J. - Fairfield University women's swimmer junior Brittany Hunter garnered Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season, as the MAAC announced the weekly swimming and diving awards on Tuesday afternoon.
Hunter helped Fairfield to a 151-92 win over Holy Cross, by winning three events last Saturday at the RecPlex Pool. She won the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 9:36.92, and then touched the wall first in the 200-meter IM in a winning time of 2:31.17. Hunter finished trifecta with a 400-meter freestyle win in 4:44.20.
It is the second time this season that the Fox Lane High School graduate has won three events in a meet. Against Niagara she won three events, en route to picking up her first MAAC Swimmer of the Week honor.
Also this past week, Hunter picked up a win in the 100-yard freestyle against Yale on January 20, with a time of 1:03.26. On January 16, against Maine, she won the 200-meter butterfly with a 2:29.33.
Hunter, along with the rest of the men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to Stony Brook on January 28 for a dual meet beginning at 1 p.m.
