EDISON, N.J. - Fairfield University junior Jennifer Masi (North Haven, Conn./Sacred Heart Academy) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
This is Masi's third weekly award, as she garnered MAAC Swimmer of the Week on December 6, and ECAC Swimmer of the Week on December 14.
The North Haven, Conn. native helped Fairfield to a 118-81 win over Manhattan College last Friday at the Rec Plex Pool. She set a new school-record in the 50-meter freestyle with a 27.35, and then came back to touch the wall first in the 100-meter freestyle with a 1:00.82.
The Fairfield women's swimming and diving teams under Head Coach Bill Farley finished the regular season with a 7-7 overall record, and a 5-1 mark in the MAAC.
Fairfield returns to the pool, February 16-18 at Loyola (Md.), for the 2006 MAAC Championships.
