FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Senior Brittany Hunter (Mt. Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Swimmer of the Week after a stellar performance for Fairfield in two competitions last week.

Hunter excelled for the Stags against Iona on Nov. 28, winning three individual events on the day. She began by capturing the 1500 meter freestyle in a time of 18:10.49 and followed that with a victory in the 200 meter individual medley, touching in 2:29.38. She closed out the day with a win in the 400 meter freestyle in a time of 4:41.74.

Three days later at the Harold Anderson Invitational, Hunter notched a fourth place finish in the 200 yard butterfly with a mark of 2:14.62, the fourth-fastest time in the MAAC this season. She also placed seventh in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:21.92 and ninth in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.21.

Hunter, a team captain, is in her final season of a stellar four-year career with the Stags. The physics major holds or is apart of 17 school records.

The Fairfield women's swimming and diving team returns to action on Dec. 9 when it hosts Siena and Sacred at 1 p.m. in the RecPlex.
