EDISON, N.J. - Fairfield University women's swimmer junior Jennifer Masi (North Haven, Conn./Sacred Heart Academy) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) swimmer of the week on Tuesday afternoon.

Masi had a solid afternoon, last Saturday in a pair of dual meets with Siena and Sacred Heart, as she set a Fairfield school-record in the 50-yard freestyle, and a Siena pool record with a time of 24.60. She also won the 100-yard freestyle, setting a school-record with a time of 54.35.

In addition, she was a part of a pair of winning relay teams. In the 200-yard medley relay, the Stags set a school-record, which was set at last year's MAAC Championships, with a 1:53.17. That time, also set a new Siena pool record, which was held by Army.

Masi was also part of the 200-freestyle relay team that finished with a 1:42.96.

In a dual meet at Iona, the North Haven, Conn. native finished second in a pair of individual races, and was a part of a winning relay team. In the 50-yard freestyle, she posted a 25.12, and in the 100-yard freestyle she recorded a 54.79. The 400-yard medley relay team finished with a 4:11.76.

Fairfield returns to the pool on Monday, Jan. 16, with a dual meet at home with the University of Maine. The clash with the Black Bears is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
