NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The Fairfield University men's and women's cross country teams took part in the third annual CCSU Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn., on Saturday afternoon. The Fairfield men's team finished third, while the women's team finished fifth.
On the women's side, Kara O'Connell led the Stags finishing 33rd overall with a 20:34 over the 5k course. Courtney Kincaid was second on the team with a 21:12, followed by Maryellen Pribish with a 21:28. Devann Ard was fourth on the team with a 21:34, and Megan Krueger finished with a 21:48.
Shannon Kenefick and Jennifer Booton posted a 22:02, and a 22:06 respectively, and Liz Casey found her way around the course in 23:13. Kelli Connors registered a 23:37.Lauren Asermely had a 24:30, and Tara Jackson crossed the line in 25:07.
The Fairfield men were led by A.J. Kastanotis who finished the 8k course, 12th overall with a 30: 05. Dan Ryan was second on the team and 14th overall with a 30:28. Rounding out the top three for the Stags was Matt Ginn who had a 30:33.
Andrew Lawrence posted a 30:56, followed by Duncan Gerity (30:58), John LaCagnina (30:58), Devin Hagan (31:48), John Fields (32:07), and John Worrall (32:17).
