FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University men's and women's cross country teams each finished fourth at the Victor Leeber, S.J. Invitational, Saturday afternoon on the Fairfield campus.

Hofstra won the men's team title, while Sacred Heart won the women's team title.

The Fairfield men were led by John LaCagnina who finished the 8k course with a time of 28:33. Dan Ryan was second on the team, finishing with a 28:56.2. Matt Ginn finished third for the Fairfield men with a time of 28:57.5.

A.J. Lawrence crossed the finish line with a 29:28.6. Duncan Gerity was next with a 29:41.4, and was followed closely behind John Worrall (29:51.8) and Devin Hagan (29:52.3). A.J. Kastanotis posted a 30:14.

The Fairfield women were led by Kara O'Connell who registered a 20:45.5. Courtney Kincaid finished right behind with a 20:49.2, and Maryellen Pribish rounded out the top three for the Stags with a 21:28.7.

Devann Ard was fourth on the team with a 21:54.1, and Liz Casey posted a time of 22:00.5. Jennifer Booton recorded a time of 22:07.8.

The women's race was won by Mary Sullivan of Hofstra, who set a course record with a time of 17:58.1. Rudy Martinez of Hofstra completed the sweep winning the men's race with a 25:55.8.

The race formerly known as the Fairfield Invitational, was officially dedicated in honor of Fr. Leeber, the programs first head coach. In addition, the number-one race bib was officially retired in honor of Fr. Leeber, and presented to Pat Leeber '86, who represented the Leeber family.

"I spoke with my uncle this morning," Pat Leeber said during the dedication. "And he was very grateful for this honor. His three loves are god, family, and Fairfield University."

The Stags will be back in action, on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the New England Championships, in Boston, Mass.
