NEW YORK - The Fairfield University men's and women's cross country teams competed, on a cold and windy day at the 2004 NCAA Division I Northeast Regionals this afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
The women's team was led by Shannon Kenefick who finished the 6k course in 23:40.4. She was followed by Stephanie Stote who was second on the team with a 24:37.3. Lauren Wilson was third for the Fairfield women with a 24:56.9.
Courtney Kincaid crossed the finish line with a 26:13.3, followed by Megan Krueger with a 26:20.3, Liz Casey with a 26:30.2, and Kelli Connors with a 27:30.3
The Fairfield men were led by Bryan Mahoney who finished the 10k course in 34:23.6, and was once again followed closely by Justin Rindos who finished with a 34:25.0.
AJ Lawrence was third on the Fairfield men's team with a 36:44.4. Craig Sabatini was two spots behind with a 36:58.1, and Devin Hagan posted a 37:16.4. Matt Ginn had a 37:57.9, and John LaCagnina finished the race with a 39:37.6
Both teams will finish the season with the 2004 ECAC/IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park next Saturday afternoon.
