FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Fairfield University Director of Athletics Eugene P. Doris announced this afternoon, that Michael Owens has been named the men's and women's cross country head coach. Owens, who served as an assistant coach last season, replaces Jennifer Wyshner who resigned last month.
"We have a lot of talented runners in our program," Owens stated. "I am really thrilled to be able to continue to work with them this season, and in the future. We have some really big shoes to fill on both sides, but if we continue to progress week in and week out, we should be ready once the MAAC Championships rolls around."
Owens came to Fairfield before the 2004 season, after serving as the boy's and girl's cross country and indoor track coach at Wamogo Regional High School, in Litchfield, Conn.
