
Several Stags Having Busy Summers on Baseball Diamond

Some members of the Fairfield baseball team are having busy summer vacations as six Stags are playing in collegiate leagues across the country.
Centerfielder Jason Rago is currently playing in the Florida Collegiate Instructional League at the IMG Baseball Academy in Bradenton. Rago, who is on the Gold Team, is one of approximately 145 players from more than 70 colleges and universities to partake in the eight-week program.
Pitcher Rob Gariano and right fielder Brian Rudolph are currently in Ohio playing for the Licking County Settlers in the Great Lakes Collegiate League.
Pitchers Doug Ciallella and Ryan Calabrese along with catcher Mike Weiner opted to play in the New York Collegiate League. Ciallella and Weiner are suiting up for the Allegany County Nitros, the defending NYCL Champions, while Calabrese is playing for the Elmira Pioneers.
