2005: DeSimone appeared in 10 games in his first collegiate season for the Stags ... Was primarily used as a pinch runner ... He scored three runs and one hit and one run batted in ... In his first collegiate game against St. John's on March 22 he scored one run ... In the first game of a doubleheader against Saint Peter's on April 4 scored a run ... Against Iona on May 8 he scored his third run of the season ... DeSimone earned his first collegiate start on May 20 against Manhattan ... He made the most of his starting nod at shortstop by getting his first collegiate hit and RBI with a single to left field in the second inning of a 9-2 win over the Jaspers.

Before Fairfield: He played scholastically for Pelham Memorial High School ... DeSimone was also a standout basketball player for Pelham ... As a senior he garnered all-league in basketball and all-league and all-section in baseball ... He captained the baseball team both as a junior and senior, and helped the baseball team to a league championship in 2003 ... That season he was an all-league selection, as well as the team's most valuable player.
