Baseball Season Opener Pushed Back One Day
Feb 22, 2008
The Stags thought they had escaped the headaches Mother Nature was creating in the Northeast when they arrived in Mobile, Ala. for the Coca-Cola Classic. They found, however, strong thunderstorms inundating the region and wreaking just as much havoc. After several time changes, Fairfield Friday's season opener against the University of South Alabama was postponed due to rain.
The Stags will just have to wait one day longer to start their 2008 campaign as the tournament schedule was has been altered to fit in all six games. Fairfield will face Xavier tomorrow, February 23, at 2:30 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. game against host South Alabama. The Stags wrap up action on Sunday, February 24, with an 11 a.m. game against Kentucky.
