Baseball Falls to Western Michigan 9-3

BRADENTON, Fla. - Fairfield ran into a streaking Western Michigan squad this afternoon as the Broncos defeated the Stags 9-4 for their fifth straight win. Fairfield falls to 1-4 while the Broncos improve to 6-1.

Sophomore Jason Rago and senior Albie DeSimone both homered for the Stags. Rookie Tucker Nathans extended his hitting streak to five games with a double.

Junior Doug Ciallella took the loss, giving up three runs, one earned, on eight hits. He also walked three batters while striking out one.

The Broncos' Gus Jacobson earned the win, scattering four hits and allowing one run in six innings of work.

Fairfield will look to avenge the loss to Western Michigan tomorrow, March 4.
