FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Fairfield University sophomore David Dudish (Olney, Md./Georgetown Prep) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week after helping the Stags (10-20, 8-4 MAAC) to a series sweep of Siena.

Dudish continued to swing a hot bat for the Stags. In four games last week, he hit .467 (7-for-15) with a .733 slugging percentage, five RBI, and four runs scored. In addition, the third baseman was hit by two pitches while recording a sacrifice hit.

In the crucial series win against Siena, Dudish was a combined 6-for-11 with all of his RBI and runs coming against the Saints. In the opening game against Siena, Dudish hit his first homer of the season to help the Stags to the 6-4 win. In game two, Dudish was a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. He concluded the series by going 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Fairfield's come-from-behind win.

Dudish has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, raising his batting average 71 points in that span. On the season, he is batting .265 with nine RBI and nine runs scored.

This is the third weekly award that has been given to the Stags this season. Sophomore Rob Gariano (Nutley, N.J.) was named the MAAC Pitcher of the Week on March 25 while Tucker Nathans (Warwick, N.Y.) was tabbed at the Rookie of the Week on March 31.

Fairfield, winners of five of its last seven games, wraps up its 10-game road swing on April 16 with a doubleheader at Yale beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Stags return home, April 19-20, to host Rider in an important MAAC series.
