UMBC pounded out 14 hits, while roughing up Fairfield University baseball starter Tom Maisano (Farmingdale, NY/Chaminade) for six runs on eight hits in three-and-a-third innings pitched, in a 14-3 win on Saturday afternoon, at Alumni Field, on the campus of UMBC.

UMBC (2-4) was led by Chris Becraft, who went 3-for-4, on the afternoon with three runs scored, and seven runs batted in. The Retrievers scored five runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

The Stags (0-4) were led at the plate by junior Andy Lynn (Montville, NJ/Delbarton) who went 3-for-3 on the afternoon with two runs batted in, and a run scored. Junior Sal Mancuso (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) also had a productive day at the plate, knocking out three hits to go along with a run scored.

UMBC's Eric Butkiewicz picked up the win yielding just three runs on eight hits, in five innings pitched.

The two teams will meet again in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon starting at 12 p.m.
